This standard constitutes part 1 of a three part standard which aims to establish the minimum set of requirements necessary to achieve an acceptable level of safety and performance for an Automated People Mover (APM) system including its design, construction, operation, and maintenance. The overall goal of this standard is to assist the industry and the public by expediting the approval and release process and facilitating the ease of use of an APM system.
