This publication applies to those areas in which flammable gases are produced, manufactured, stored, transmitted and distributed. It provides guidance for classification of areas for electrical installations in gas utilities, under the provisions of the National Electrical Code (NEC) or other applicable codes or regulations providing a similar basis for defining "Classified Locations."
