Due to the interest in the Guidelines, principally from design engineers and mariners engaged in project development and wishing to establish the warranty surveyors requirements, LOC decided to make them generally available, this OPL publication is the result. It is emphasized that these are guidelines, not Rules. Also they are being constantly updated, as industry practice changes. Thus, project-specific guidelines are often prepared by LOC based on the information in this book.
